President Koroma to boost Flying Stars AFC

President Ernest Koroma on Sunday March 24, made a surprise visit to the training session of the Flying Stars AFC, a Paralympics football Club who normally do their training at the Lumley beach Freetown. The entire place was in jubilant mood when the president joined the Minister of Social Welfare Gender & Children’s Affairs, Moijueh Emmanuel KaiKai, who was on his usual Sunday visit to the training grounds because according to him, the welfare of the disadvantage, women empowerment, protection of children and the physically challenged is his basic aim.
After the introduction of the 32 men squad by Minister Moijueh E. Kaikai to President Koroma, the team manager Ernest Bai Tarawally said Sunday March 24 is a remarkable day for the entire team and thanked President Koroma for the surprise visit and outlined the challenges the team is going through while calling on the government to continue their support to the team because they will in October this year represent Sierra Leone in the forth- coming African Nations Cup in Kenya.
However, President Koroma reassures the team of government’s commitment to disability issues, as he said “disability is not inability”. President Koroma said that he will liase with the Minister of Social Welfare Gender & Childrens Affairs Moijueh KaiKai and other stakeholders to ensure that the team represents Sierra Leone in the forth- coming African Nations Cup in Kenya.
Also President Koroma said that government is happy, the nation is happy and him especially is delighted,with the way the team is organizing itself, as it stands as an example to all, to do more and promised the team that he will do more.
He called on all present to support the team and that he will get back to them before the next two weeks.
