10-year-old Swimming talents discovered in Magburaka

A ten-year-old talent in Swimming, Joseph Gbla, has been discovered by the Sierra Leone Swimming, Diving and Water Polo Executive during an open swimming competition on Easter Monday, April 1, at Rokel Beach, Mayolor Village in Magburaka, in the Northern region.
The 10-year-old boy said that he was very happy to be part of the competition and hoped to participate in subsequent competitions in the future.
Joseph stated that he liked swimming very much and that was why, in most cases, he followed some of the bigger boys to swim and is used to it.
Apart from Joseph Gbla, other nine talents in the same discipline, have also been discovered to add up to 10, discovered at a single competition in the Northern region, as Swimmers came from Lunsar, Port Loko, Makeni and a host of other villages in the north.
These 10 swimmers would be presented to the National body by the Northern Region Executive, which would be later replicated in the other regions. In the final analysis, all newly- discovered talents would be assembled in Freetown for an international training that will be conducted by an Italian expert, Mario Franchi.
