Sierra Leone Sports: Kamboi Eagles win LEOCEM FA

After 120 minutes of a tense match-battle between Kamboi Eagles and East End Lions past Sunday May 25th at the new Bo Stadium, Eagles in the Kamboi Hills of Kenema emerged as champion, securing a (3-2) win over their opponent- East End Lions.
During the 90 minutes tussle, the match ended one all draw with Kamboi Eagles taking the lead through Amadu Barrie. Mid way in the second half, East End Lions leveled the score with Osman Kamara   during the injured time.
Before going to a penalty shootout, the referee decided to add extra 30 minutes of play after consultation with the organizers.
The defeat of East End Lions was a blow to supporters and officials who were in Bo in their hundreds to support the team to victory. But though, it was disappointing at the end of the match.
The winner; Kamboi Eagles has received the sum of Le 20,000,000 cash with a trophy and 30 golden medals and will represent the country in next year’s CAF Confederation Cup. The runner-up, East End Lions received Le10, 000,000 cash with 30 silver medals and will represent the country’s WAFU club competition.
Speaking to this medium, the head coach of Eastern Lions, Christian Cole said is boys were very determined to win the trophy on Sunday, and that he was there to regain the club’s past glory which he believed will be accomplished by winning its first trophy for the club as a coach.
