Currently, we are seeking experts/professionals to serve for an anticipated project that will facilitate conducting a clinical trial in at least five districts in Sierra Leone, each with at least one clinical site, for an Ebola Vaccine enrolling a minimum of 6000 subjects and a maximum of 9000 subjects.FHI 360 will lead on the following activities: Project Management, Data Management with Statistical Support, Site Training, Clinical Site Monitoring, Biostatistics, Lab Support (Clinical and Research), Clinical Research Staff, and Cold-chain Expertise.
Therefore, the following specific positions are required; and are contingent upon receiving award.
1. Study Manager; Job ID: 15217; Openings: 5
The Study Manager monitors activities at clinical study sites to assure adherence to Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and study protocols. Manage regulatory and site documents as required and patient recruitment and scheduling. Mustwork both independently and in a team environment. Provide guidance and assistance to site capacity development activities by the CRAs. Communicate with the project manager and provide regular updates. Develop working relationships with site leaders and government representatives in Sierra Leone. Responsible for overall study participant scheduling and follow-up. May participate in clinical training programs and maintain awareness of developments in the field of clinical research as needed.. Prepares clinical documents, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Maintain systems and process necessary to report trial status and activities; and to help ensure that quality, regulatory-compliant clinical projects are conducted on time and within budget. Depending upon the level of experience, may become involved, when required, in other areas of study management and staff training and contributes to the review of sponsor/client’s and/or FHI 360’s systems and procedures as appropriate.Travel: minimum 10%.
Master’s degree or its international equivalent preferred. Prior work experience as a clinical trials study coordinator or clinical research associate preferred.
2. Site Data Manager, Job ID: 15185, Openings:5
Responsible for managing the site data management operations.Assigns data entry tasks and follow-up to ensure completion. Responsible for reconciling batches of case report forms (CRFs) after data entry.Responsible for filing CRFs after data entry.Supervises data entry clerks.
Responsible for the management of all site data management activities; Ensuring that file room supplies are kept at adequate levels; Maintains accurate filing system; Assigning and managing data entry tasks; Assigning batches of CRFs to be entered to data entry staff; Coordinating first and second entry of data; Reviewing batch flow sheets for accuracy; Reconciles batches of data after data entry; Ensureing that each batch of data has been completely and accurately entered into the study database.Responsible for researching and resolving data discrepancies for the clinical trial.Works in conjunction with the Site Clinical staff to resolve data discrepancies found in the Clinical Database Management System (CDMS).
Also performs data discrepancy tasks including:Researching data discrepancies; providing responses to data discrepancies; Printing data discrepancy forms; Filing data discrepancy forms in the participant folders at the site; Creating and maintaining tracking reports to manage the workflow of data discrepancies; Requesting manual discrepancies when appropriate; Coordinating with the Site Investigator to ensure that discrepancy tasks (e.g., submitting discrepancy responses in web-based application) are completed prior to the next scheduled data discrepancy validation run.Additionally, provides reports and feedback to the Study Lead Data Manager (FHI/ 360/NC); Maintains logs of when data are received and entered; Requests improvements to existing processes; and performs other duties as assigned by the Study Lead Data Manager (FHI/ 360/NC).
Associate’s Degree or its International Equivalent, or 2 years of Data Management and Clinical Trials experience. Excellent administrative skills and organizational ability.Thorough knowledge of basic assumptions of clinical trial practices for data acquisition and quality assurance.Thorough knowledge of clinical data management tools. 3.Financial Analyst II, Job ID: 15234
The position will coordinate financial/accounting operations, including overall financial monitoring and support/guidance to Country Office and project staff, to ensure the fiscal well- being of the projects. Also providing financial management, conducting analyses of financial data, providing budget analyses for project funds, and preparing required reports to funding agencies to ensure compliance with the donor’s requirements. Additionally, overseeing sub award management, responding to inquiries and assist in trainings.
Furthermore, carries out unit finances to proactively guide and support respective financial success by providing high level analytical expertise, implementing business strategies and developing strong customer relationships; Analyzes financial data and reports to determine accuracy and completeness; Compiles data and prepares financial reports; Reviews and processes final cost objective requests;Provides analysis and business modeling support on strategic initiatives for senior management and field operations. He/she will moreover be responsible for analyzing performance trends, modeling complex business decisions, tracking performance and presenting results; Ensuring and providing financial expertise, critical thinking, and customer service; accumulating data, summarizing information into presentable reports/forms, and discerning valid from invalid data comparisons. Seeks explanation for variations in the data. Reviews and inputs financial data and final cost objectives, account information into accounting software systems.Creates, reviews, and process program budgets.Analyzes, reviews, and distributes financial reports to ensure accuracy.Ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written form.Provides support for field programs by conducting live meeting training on financial systems and processes. Works with Global Program Management (GPM) staff to help them understand the financial aspects of the assigned Country Offices. Monitors Country Offices cash flows and fund transfers by processing cash account analysis, ensures adequate funds are maintained within each program, processing wire transfer requests to field offices and ensuring timely transfer of funds. Manages sub recipient financial reports for assigned Country Offices by reconciling US based sub recipients with the General Ledger accounts. Reviews and analysis sub award tracking system, manages US partner payments and collaborates with GPM staff on financial close outs of sub recipients. Responsible for interpreting, analyzing and/or evaluating data, ensures compliance with applicable state and federal statutes, and uses Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP). Reviews and approves separation pay of all field office staff.Manages cost share consolidations and reporting for board meetings.
Bachelor’s Degree or its International Equivalent – Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or Related Field.5 – 8 Years of progressively responsible financial analysis and pricing experience in a government contracting environment.Proficiency in spreadsheet software required. Must demonstrate excellent analytical and organizational skills. Science or health-related field experience preferred. Non-governmental organization (NGO) experience preferred.Has basic knowledge of applicable financial and accounting statutes and regulations. Ability to interpret and apply laws, analyzing information, and evaluating the impact of policies, procedures and practices. Has a thorough knowledge of external regulations as well as internal corporate policies and procedures. Experienced using systems to produce reports, financial models and databases. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with regulated industries, consultants, management and staff. Interprets and provides explanation for discrepancies ad variations in data. Superior ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written form.
4. Human Resources Associate II, Job ID: 15233
The position will provide employees and Human Resources staff support in several functional areas including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, payroll, HRIS and training & development. Responsible for maintaining employee hardcopy and softcopy HRIS files. Inputs employee personal data into human resources information system (HRIS) database and generates reports as needed for HR staff.Serves as initial point of contact for employees with questions related to their personal employee information/HR-related. Processes various forms related to documenting human resources activities such as new-hire, change-of-status, performance evaluations, benefits, terminations, etc. Conducts new-hire orientations and may handle or facilitate employee exit interviews.Prepares special reports using HRIS data that may include headcount. Coordinates interviews, maintains visa files and may provide updates to recruiting system files.Serves as an experienced resource to the HR team and employees in multiple areas to include: HRIS, compensation, benefits, recruiting, payroll, and training & development.
