One of Sierra Leone’s renowned Child activist and West African fashion designer, Saidu Paul is planning to host a TV reality show pretty soon. He said details about the show would be revealed later as he is presently doing the ground work. In an interview with Awoko yesterday, Paul said he won’t disclose the name of the TV show yet. However, he said the TV show would be about youth and children issues. “It would be as a guide to our generation and upcoming generation. It would teach them how to be successful; the essence of education and how to be enterprising.”He explained that the show would be featuring true life stories of different successful individuals and others who have life experiences that would serve as inspiration to viewers, especially young ones. He said “I intend to look at the business sector in the show because we’ve found out that majority of Sierra Leoneans are not enterprising like other West African nations – Ghana and Nigeria in-particular.The show would explain how love and honesty would help business to thrive and how Sierra Leoneans can inculcate such attributes in their business so that they would develop like the foreign entrepreneurs. Paul also noted that the reality TV show would also learn youths how to migrate from one business to another so that young people would be able to grow.”The show would also highlight why foreigners get loans from banks and majority of locals don’t have access to such facilities, he explained. Furthermore, he said the TV show would question the Youth Ministry on its approach in addressing youth issues which include drug abuse, prostitution and crime.
