Sierra Leone News: Djs decide: CPO sworn in

Disc Jockeys (DJs) from the nook and crany of Sierra Leone’s republic on Saturday converged at the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists; Harry Yansaneh hall to decide the fate of their union for the next two years; which is the term of the union executive.
After an edgy but well conducted electoral process, DJ CPO- Abdul Karim Koroma emerged victorious with an overwhelming 95 votes – the highest votes in the electoral process, subsequently defeating the other two contestants Dj Jesse- Jesse Amara with 82 votes and Laj K- Alhaji K Tarawallie with 3 votes, respectively. As for the position of Secretary, Dj K Flash won having 92 votes, while his contender Inspector Bah had 59 votes.  It was a close tie for Dj Fricky- Ade Foster Africanus and Dj Ralph Kay- Abdul Rahman Koroma.
However; Dj Fricky emerged victorious with 78 votes defeating his contender Dj Ralph Kay by one vote.  Prior to the elections DJ Boxx- Abubakarr Conteh who funded the elections admonished Djs to accept the outcome and work towards the progress and development of the union.
TV Presenter, King Milan said this is the foundation of the entertainment industry and this is the first step of a million miles journey.
President of All Stars Union Collabo emphasized that unity is strength. “we clearly exemplified this in our Dj Cleff campaign,” he averred.
DJ CPO said, he was pleased with the results and now that electioneering is over it is time to turn-up the volume and push the union forward.
