The Acting Chairman of the National Coaches Association, Abubakarr Tostao Kamara, said they unanimously appointed Abdulai Kaloga Bah as the legitimate delegate to represent coaches in the March 23rd Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) extraordinary congress.
Bah is the current head coach of Northern region division one giants, Marampa Star Football Club.
According to Kamara, the membership decided to accept the wish of veteran coach, John Jebo Sherrington, who earlier nominated Bah to represent them.
“At first the Association was in disarray on the manner at which Bah was selected. Some of our members forwarded a petition letter to the Minister of Sport who brilliantly stepped into the matter and advised us to solve it amongst ourselves”.
“After that, we held several meetings at the SLFA Secretariat in Kingtom where we debated the matter at length. We agree to disagree and finally accepted because we respected the view of our mentor and we are the same people”.
“Since John Jebo Sherrington is our senior colleague, we accepted his nomination to avoid further confrontations among ourselves,” Kamara noted.
He added that, Bah is not part of the FA, but a coach who has passion for the game and wants to see the game played at all cost.
“Bah doesn’t have personal relationship with the SLFA. He has credibility and he is someone who cares about his integrity. So we have no fear about him disappointing us because we trust him, “he said.
The Acting Chairman further implored Bah to ensure he highlighted the problems coaches are faced with in the congress so that the FA knows their plight.
