Republic of Sierra Leone Army forces (RSLAF) FC have withdrawn from the Total CAF Confederation Cup second leg tie which was expected to be played at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown this weekend.
According to a press statement released by Sierra Leone Football Association on Wednesday, it was stated that, their 2017 Total Confederation Cup representatives, RSLAF FC, has withdrawn from the ongoing competition.
The press statement was released shortly after the SLFA Secretariat received a letter from RSLAF FC dated March 14th instant, expressing their unwillingness to host the return leg match between them and Club Africain of Tunisia scheduled for March 19th 2017 at the Siaka Steven Stadium in Freetown citing financial reasons.
The FA has already communicated to RSLAF FC the consequence of their action and CAF has therefore cancelled the said fixture after the SLFA has informed them of the RSLAF FC decision.
CAF Disciplinary Committee and the SLFA Executive Board will pronounce the necessary sanctions on RSLAF FC and they would be duly informed.
