After a bad start in the Central One Football Association (COFA) Super Inter Community League group stage, Kroobay will be looking forward to a favourable result in their round of 16 knockout match against Mount Auroel Community at the Parade Field on Thursday April 20th 2017.
Both communities yearn to reach last 8 of the competition by defeating each other. But football pundits have ticked Mount Auroel as the better side ahead of the mouth-watering encounter.
The pundits stated, “Despite both teams have quality players that are capable of causing upsets, Mount Auorel is a formidable side with players that have been with the team for the past five years. Likewise, on the side of Bay, they have a crop of players from different football clubs in the country”.
“So Mount Auroel played as a team, whiles Bay played with players that have different ideologies. This is the reason we see Mount Auroel as the better side, though football is unpredictable,” the pundits said.
The Team Manager for Kroo Bay, Osman Kondos Bangura, admitted that they are facing a team that has quality players with the zeal of winning any match.
“Mount Auroel is a team that utilises their attacking opportunities. They can score from any angle in the pitch of play. They are very attacking minded and I believe that’s exactly how they are going to play,” Kamara said.
Kamara added, “Though it will be a challenge for us, we believe our boys will make us proud at the end of the regulation time. We know how important this tournament is to our community”.
“Everybody wants the trophy at Bay this time round, and this is the more reason we are going to play this match with confidence and determination because we are in the knockout stage,” the Team Manager for Kroo Bay, Kamara concluded.
The Head Coach of Mount Auroel Community, Papa Pizzo Bangura, confidently boasted that their style of play is rich and not just on the attack, but also the defence.
It will be a very tough match, as not every team has the nerve to defeat us because we play as a team. My players are very prepared to face the challenge against Bay with one mind on the pitch”.
“We are quite aware that this is a knockout stage and when once you lose against your opponent, you are out of the competition. But I am certain the team is prepared and we are very determine to win the match,” the Mount Auroel Head Coach affirmed.
The round of 16 matches continues on Friday 21st April 2017, with Mountain city Community playing against Wilberforce community at the same venue.
