On Thursday 20 April, Mohamed Kamara, Aiah Komba, Vidal Kummick, Alpha Kamara, Kassim Sankoh, Mariama Kamara, Mabinty Mansaray, Fatmata Kargbo, Fatmata Kamara and Salamatu Bangura were arraigned before Magistrate Binneh Kamara for attacking and hurting staff of the National Tourist Board along Lumley beach in late March 2017. The men are also accused of damaging the building of the Tourist Board to the tune of millions of Leones. Windows were broken and the exterior façade was damaged.
During their testimony to the Police, the accused men said the land where the Board building is situated is a family property that belongs to their family.
While narrating their ordeal to the Police, the accused denied the allegations of damaging the building.
The accused are charged with Felony, Wounding, Assault, Riotous Conduct among others, are out on Le10 million bail. The matter was adjourned to the 1st May 2017.
