Sierra Leone Cricket Association (SLCA) Mercury International sponsored ODI Cricket Premier League will resume on Sunday April 23rd this year at the Prince of Wales Secondary School ground after three weeks break.
The senior men’s national team preparation for the recently concluded ICC Africa World Cricket League ODI Division one tournament forced SLCA to put the league on hold.
Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) will be engaging Kent Cricket Club (KCC) in one of the two remaining matches in the league fixtures.
RSLAF players are optimistic of maintaining their winning spree against KCC who has only recorded two victories in the league against bottom place Old Edwardians.
According to KCC’s head coach Joseph Pessima, despite losing to RSLAF earlier in the league, they will give them tough time on Sunday.
“We know RSLAF have experience batsmen, bowlers and fielders, but my players will surprise them with resounding victory. We are ready to play and win the match against them, “the KCC Head Coach boastfully stated.
On their part, RSLAF Head Coach George Kpundeh said KCC is no match for his side. Citing they will win the match with a huge run.
“KCC players cannot stand our powerful batting and bowling strategy. They cannot even break our field placing because most of their players are inexperience. I am assuring all cricket fans that the RSLAF will defeat KCC hands down,”RSLAF Head Coach Kpundeh stated.
