Sierra Leone Entertainment: Exclusive Interview: Uncle Papayzua talks about family, migration and his music career

Talented Sierra Leonean born afro-beat artist, Ibrahim Kamara, popularly known as Uncle Papayzua, is one of those artists that has made an indelible mark in the sands of Sierra Leone music industry, giving us hits like Sweet Me featuring Nega Don of LXG. Starting off his career in a duo with fellow singer Black Snoop, the pair made some of the finest hits in Salone including the dancehall anthem, Kata Kata. The pair didn’t last as both artists went solo in pursuit of their real aspirations in music. Since the duo, Black Snoop N Papayzua break up, Papayzua has released two albums; FOCUS which had hits like Look Na Ein Phone, Skololo and Miss You featuring Case and No Money, No Love which had the dancehall rave Sweet Me. Uncle Papayzua also won the best techno song in the SLEDU awards and the Best Artist award in the WHO IS WHO music competition in Europe.
