Sierra Leone News: Remanded for threatening language

Magistate Hannah Bonnie of the Siaka Stevens Street Magistrate Court yesterday remanded Alpha Sesay alias Super Max for allegedly threatening to stab the complainant, Kadijatu M. Kamara.
According to the fourth prosecution witness, Mariama Kobba, on the 13 June 2017, at 18c Off Regent Road, Freetown, she went to the home of the complainant so that they can attend church services together.
She said while she was waiting in the parlour for the complainant who was getting prepared in the room, the accused came asking for his slippers. She said they did not respond to him. “Not too long, I saw the accused coming towards me with a blue and white kitchen knife shouting ‘I will stab you people today’. I ran to the room where the complainant was and we closed the door. The accused persistently was pushing the door while we were shouting for help.”
Kobba said after some time, the mother of the complainant and other people came to their rescue. She said during the commotion by people to retrieve the knife from the accused, the complainant slinked out of the house to the police station where she reported the matter. The matter was adjourned to the 19 July 2017.
