Sierra Leoneans playing abroad are scoring every week for their various clubs. This time around it is Michael Kamara, a defender who equalized for his side Hampton & Richmond Borough in their one all (1-1) match against East Thurrock in their first league match.
Emmanuel Kamara said that is good for Sierra Leoneans to be scoring goals every week that will create serious competition in the National team ahead of the team next match in the AFCON tournament.
He stated that before a player has place in the team he has to prove himself that he has want it takes to play for Leone Stars.
And with such developments we are expecting to see new players playing for Leone Stars that the previous names which is good for the team.
During the match, according Abu Sesay, East Thurrock United played out an entertaining 1-1 draw against Hampton & Richmond Borough in the opening game of the new National League South season.
It was a quiet opening, with Ryan Moss sending a volley off target for the visitors who also had a penalty shout waved away.
But the best chance of the opening 22 minutes belonged to the home team East Thurrock.
Kamara, 28, sent a diving header narrowly over the crossbar in the final action of the first-half.
All goals were scored in the second half at the Future Fuel Stadium in the 53 and 61′ minutes respectively.
