The head coach of the National home-based team, Abubakarr Tostao Kamara said the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) tournament slated for next month in Ghana, is not going to be easy.
He said it is difficult for the technical team to select players because no league is currently playing. The players that are selected are from the COFA league and other mini leagues.
Coach Tostao said that ahead of the competition he has invited 24 players who have started training and before the weekend they are expected to invite six other players to join the team training.
When asked why five players who were part of the squad that played in the CHAN competition are not part of the invited players, Coach Tostao said they were not invited because they are not part of my plan and I want to build a team with players who are ready to play for me.
He said that those players have been replaced by other players who have played against us in friendly matches and they played very well especially the players from Makeni.
Coach Kamara said that if they had eliminated the Senegalese in the CHAN Competition they should have brought those players on board to beef up the squad.
Alex Kamara said the invited players are up to the task and apply to the technical team to make the right choice that will represent the country in the tournament.
James Conteh said Sierra Leone will played their first match against Nigeria and it will knockout if they proceed they will now go on to the group stage.
