The Mayoral hopeful of the All Peoples Congress (APC) Roland Bankole Gibson, said he will ensure a clean and hygienic Freetown if awarded the symbol to contest the 2018 elections. According to Gibson his aim is to restore the lost glory of Freetown.
Aspiring candidates for Mayor under the APC include Yvonne Aki-Sawyer, Bode Gibson, Madia Rahman, former bodyguard, Alim Sesay and Tunde McCarthy.
Gibson disclosed that the major problem with Freetown City Council centres on proper management, which he, as a senior accountant, can handle peacefully, disclosing that he decided to do his declaration to the traders as the direct victims.
“My targets are to work with the relevant Ministries, Agencies and Department to ensure proper planning of our city, restore the lost glories of our municipal schools, develop and implement strategies for effective revenue mobilization.”
The President of the Sierra Leone Concern Traders Union, Foday Sahid Kamara, pledged his Unions support to Rev Gibson who is part of their struggles. He said the trader’s support is for Gibson under the APC symbol.
Kamara cautioned the Reverend to be mindful of his promises as posterity will judge him if he fails to perform to transform Freetown.
