The six approved Presidential nominees

Members of Parliament (MP’s) on Tuesday 28 November 2017 unanimously approved six Presidential Nominees to fill vacant positions in various agencies and commissions of the government.
The approved nominees are: Dr Simeon Owizz Koroma, Colonel Rtd Edmond Nathaniel Taylor; both Board Members National Drug Law Enforcement Advisory Council. David C. Barton; Board Member Bank of Sierra Leone, Mustapha M. K. Sesay; Ex Officio Member Independent Media Commission: Festus O Jones; Board Member Guma Valley Water Company and Lesline R. Thomas; Member Sierra Leone Electricity and Water Regulation Commission.
Presenting the nominees before the House for approval, the Majority Leader Honourable Leonard S. Fofanah, maintained the report containing responses of the nominees is the unanimous decision of the Committee of Appointment and the Public Service.
Making his contribution on the nominees, Hon. Bashiru Salikie representing the SLPP in Constituency 072 Bo District, cautioned the appointee to the IMC Mustapha M.K. Sesay to abstain from representing or siding political parties but rather to serve the Commission and people.
Hon. Frank Kposowa a former President of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ), maintained the nominee to the IMC is a real patriot who has served humanity and his country in his own little ways. He called on his colleagues to speedily approve the nominees without wasting time.
Hon. Mohamed K Thorley, representing Constituency 070 Bo district, reminded the House about the selfless work done by Dr. Owizz Koroma, who has assisted the country as a pathologist.
