Jaluahun Paramount Chieftaincy candidature resolved

After the declaration of aspirants for the Paramount Chieftaincy election in Jaluahun Chiefdom on the 10th of November this year, some aspirants candidature were nullified by referring to the chiefdom as an amalgamated chiefdom in the district.
This lead to petition letters to various quarters regarding their legitimacy, it seems the issue has been addressed to the satisfaction of residents in the chiefdom.
The Deputy Secretary in the office of the Provincial Secretary’s office Jaya Samuka has addressed aspirants from Jaluahun chiefdom in the Kailahun district for Paramount Chieftaincy election scheduled to take place at the end of this month for their candidature fees.
He revealed to them that his office has received a letter from the Permanent Secretary of Local Government Lansana Koroma that the question of Jaluahun chiefdom being an amalgamated chiefdom in the Kailahun district has being over ruled and therefore the remaining candidates who were not fortunate and have been aggrieved should go the National Election Office and go ahead with their nominations process.
In his address to the aspirants the Regional Election Officer Philip Kargbo told them that the Ministry of Local Government and Internal Affairs was formally responsible for the Paramount chieftaincy elections across the nation but now the National Election Commission (NEC) has come in to conduct the elections but the declaration of right is the responsibility of provincial secretary while NEC only deal with the name of qualified candidates that are presented by the provincial secretary.
He point out that if there was any mistake on the declaration day at Jaluahun chiefdom it is the responsibility of the Provincial Secretary and the ancestors’ chiefs.
He disclosed that there is now a letter to all the other aspirants in the chiefdom to be nominated, Kargbo then declared the nomination open.
In the presence of the Deputy Secretary Jaya Samuka , the Deputy Chairman Kailahun District Council Nelson Lahai and Mr. A.B.S.Lahai the Treasury Clerk Jaluahun chiefdom, the following people were nominated, Sei Gbao was nominated by Hindolo Gbao, Hannah S.Gbao and Elie Gboa witnessed by Musa Gbao.
