Sierra Leone News: Freetown Mall opens to Customers

The Freetown Mall which is located at Wilkinson Road at the former Tigo headquarters building, has a unique view of the Freetown Golf Club and the pristine Lumley beach surrounded by executive residence of top diplomats and respectable individuals.
The Freetown Mall has three floors each having exceptional products, the ground floor is decorated with high standard products of food, drinks, kitchen utensils and other house hold wares.  The 2nd floor of the building is also decorated with a boutique, electronic shop, furniture for house decoration and quality electronic products.
The last floor of the building has office space for rent with executive seats and tables. The floor also has two conference centres that can accommodate over fifty guests.
The conference centre at the Freetown Mall has a projector and a video conference facility within a unique and serene atmosphere for any workplace for executives.
The Freetown Mall is part of the Freetown Super Market chain owned by an illustrious Lebanese national George Koussa who owns several businesses in Sierra Leone, Ghana and Liberia.
Speaking at the ceremony the Special Adviser to the President Ibrahim Ben Kargbo said “Sierra Leone can now boast of a shopping mall like other neighbouring countries.”
He said the investment is commendable and encouraged customers to always shop at the Freetown Mall as it compliments the government’s Agenda for Prosperity.
He said the Freetown Mall is one of the best shopping centres for local and international visitors as their products and facilities are of international standards.
The proprietor of the Freetown Mall George Koussa while giving a brief background of his investment said Sierra Leone deserves better business opportunities. He assured that the Mall is of high standards and offers high quality products.
George Koussa flanked by his family, close friends and business associates said “we are going to open another Freetown Super Market branch at Hill Cut Junction by Wilberforce to meet the demands of customers within Hill Station and Wilberforce.
He said the Freetown Mall is a demonstration of their commitment to invest and also promote the development of the country by creating jobs and also contributing towards socio-economic development, and called for a customer shopping spree.
Samir Hansaneh Lebanese Chairman in Sierra Leone said the Lebanese community wants to compliment the government’s Agenda for Prosperity as the business climate is encouraging more people to invest and assured that more investments will be undertaken by the business community.
Martin Michael of Mercury International said Sierra Leone is open for business and encouraged others to emulate the Freetown Mall investments.
Investment Adviser Patrick Kaikai also stated that the Freetown Mall is currently the best in the country and assured that the investment will also create jobs for locals and also stimulate the economy. The opening ceremony was witnessed by several distinguished personalities in Government and the private sector including visiting diplomats from Liberia.
A conducted tour of the Freetown Mall formed a highpoint of the ceremony as they declared the Freetown Mall open for business last night.
