Sierra Leone News: Christians pray and traditional healers perform magic ceremonies to disarm evil before elections

Traditional healers also known as herbalists were seen displaying snakes and other items in front of the National Electoral Commission (NEC) headquarters on Sunday 7 January 2018, with the aim of cleaning the environment according to their President Alhaji Suleiman Kabbah.
Kabbah disclosed that recently they heard about the mysterious death of one senior police officer whom people alleged died as a result of “black magic” by exchanging greetings with another person.
“We have embarked on the disarmament against all evil practices across the country,” he said. According to him, the exercise is against harmful practices that will hinder the progress of a free, fair and credible election.
“This exercise will be replicated throughout the country and I have spent over Le30 million in bringing all these people together for the process,” he said. He said the money spent came from his savings and not from anyone else.
He maintained they are targeting all the major buildings, centres and historical sites where they believe some harmful practices exist.
Whilst they were busy in getting rid of evil in the traditional way, the Body of Christ Church in Sierra Leone on Sunday, 7 January 2018 came together to pray for the peace, prosperity and direction of the nation as elections approach. Prayers were held at the Cotton tree, Attouga Stadium, Maffa Field-Lumley and Jesus is Lord in Waterloo.
According to Pastor Julius Laggah said that he encouraged all Pastors to continue to pray for the nation in their various Churches and Bethelites.
