Sierra Leone Sports: ”My Boys were up to task to eliminate Grass field”-Ibrahim Sesay

The head coach of Dove Cut community football team, Ibrahim Sesay, said he’s pleased with his boys as they eliminated Grass field Community FC by two goals to nil (2-0) in the knockout phase of the Central One Football Association Inter Super community league.
He said they missed vital goal opportunities but during the dying minutes of the match they were able to score two quick goals.
He stated that the Dove Cut Community can boast of younger players but they have been very impressive during the competition. He said they are learning from each match and they are improving after each match. The losing coach, Hassan Bongo, of Grass Field, said basic mistakes caused them to lose the match. “Finishing was not the problem but we have a very poor mid field, which was not supplying the ball to the attackers. That was where the problem was,” he said.
When asked about the red card given to one of his players, the coach said the referee was right. The player in question does not have the right to use his hand on his opponent. He revealed that even though they are out they will still bounce back in the next community league.
The Chairman of COFA, Sammah Sesay, said that the knockout stage is going fine and still appealed to communities to put on good behavior in and out of the field.
The Wilberforce Community football team has progressed to the next stage of the competition after defeating Kissy Community by one goal to nil (1-0). The league will continue today Thursday with Fourah Bay playing against Allen Town.
