Sierra Leone News: Resident Minister makes unannounced visit to Salone/Guinea Border

Resident Minister of the Northwest Region, Haja Isata Abdulai, made an unannounced visit to the customs posts at the Sierra Leone and Guinean border.
The visit to the Gbalamuya Customs Post border by the Resident Minister was to identify challenges to revenue maximisation and listen to concerns from the business community in the area.
During her visit, the Resident Minister stopped at the Guinean border town of Pamalapwhere she talked with border personnel including newly transferred customs officers on the Sierra Leonean side. She also talked with business people, drivers and commercial bike riders.
The National Revenue Authority (NRA) believes the Gbalamuya Customs post, on the border between Guinea and Sierra Leone, is a major trading hub for thousands of Sierra Leonean women importers and exporters. Reports indicate the Gbalamuya Customs Post is also known as the Third Revenue Port in Sierra Leone.
