Between 7 March to 19 April 2018, it is alleged that the former Deputy Minister of Works, Housing and Infrastructure, under the APC government, Kadija O. Sesay stole a Toyota Land Cruiser belonging to the Government of Sierra Leone. The vehicle is worth a little over $75,000 USD.
The former Deputy Minister was charged with Conspiracy to Defraud, Larceny by Servant and Fraudulent Conversion by the Sierra Leone Police.
On Wednesday 20 June 2018, the former Deputy Minister of Works appeared before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of the Freetown Magistrate Court No.1 on Siaka Stevens Street. A bail condition of Le700 million and two sureties was granted to the accused.
The accused was issued a bench warrant for missing court on the last date.
On Monday July 9 2018, the accused told the court that she did not attend the last court proceeding because her daughter had an emergency operation for which she was the only immediate caregiver on that day.
Meanwhile, after the accused submission, Magistrate Santigie Bangura revoked the bail condition granted to the accused and the matter was adjourned to Thursday 12 July 2018.
