Sierra Leone Sports: I am looking forward to my first international exposure – Veronica Yendeh

One of the athletes, Veronica Yendeh, identified through FINA Olympic Assistance Support Project (OASP) by the association said she is looking forward to her first international exposure.
Veronica who has just spent two months in the association is focused to become the best female swimmers in the country and try break the National record set by Binturabie Jalloh.
Veronica said that since she started training with the other swimmers she has leaned a lot from them.
She said during her first trial for the 14th FINA World Swimming championship in Hangzhou, China, she was very confident of winning her trial which she was able to achieve because of her commitment and focus in the training.
The Technical Director of the Association, Victor Carew, said, “Yendeh is one of the best swimmers presently. That is why we are doing everything possible to shape her ahead of the Championship in China later this year. And, she is also part of our dream team for the 2020 Olympic Games in Japan.”
The Secretary General of the Association, Mohamed Turay, said during the first trial Veronica won the 50 meters backstroke in a time of 1 min 8 seconds, and the breaststroke with a time of 54:06 seconds. According to Turay, that is very encouraging which such performances the sky will be her limit.
