Sierra Leone Sports: Coach John Keister cuts team to 23 players

Leone Stars head coach, John Keister, has cut down the list of players to 23 out of the 35 players that originally started training camp some days ago. He revealed that those who are selected are the best for now.
When asked about the home-based players, he said they are progressive because of the development program and they are the future players for the country. He said for now we have those players that he is working with for the match against Ethiopia.
He said, “We need to talk to the home-based players. Most of them played in Liberia and were able to showcase their talent.”
According to Kaisar FC midfield enforcer, John Kamara, he is optimistic and looking forward to Sierra Leone’s September 9th African Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia in Hawassa.
Kamara, who played some part in Sierra Leone’s 2-1 victory over Kenya in the qualifiers opener in Freetown, is confident that the experience gained over the years will help Leone Stars to qualify for the tournament after 23 years.
According to Issa Kamara, a fan, Leone Stars are presently in second position in group F of the qualifiers after their 2-1 win over Kenya ,Ghana top the pool on goal difference.
