Sierra Leone Sports: U-17 is the backbone of Sierra Leone football – Coach Tito Cole

The head coach of Sierra Leone U-17 boys team said that the U-17 team is the backbone of Sierra Leone football, which is why we need to encourage them.
Coach Cole said they are doing everything possible to make sure the team qualifies to Tanzania.
When asked about the team’s preparations, he said, “At first, it was tough as we had 116 players who were training. We had to reduce it to 45 players. During that process the team played a series of friendly matches in the Northern region.”
He went further to thank those who are organizing the mini league that helped them select the players that were undergoing training before the team was cut down to 45 players.
Most of the players who spoke to this medium said they are looking forward to the competition to show case their talent and put Sierra Leone on the map that is why they are focused and determined.
Emmanuel Kamara said the technical team has a lot of challenges to make sure they get the right players for the competition.
