Sierra Leone Sports: Wusum Stars and Sebora FC to play in the final

Wusum Stars and Sebora FC will clash in the final of the Royal Friends Mitsubishi Car competition in Makeni on Sunday 2nd September 2018 at the Wusum Stars playing field.
Sheku Turay said the Royal Friends is a social club in Makeni who organized the match to keep clubs and players prepared for the national league, if and when the league ever starts.
He said they deemed it necessary to organize such a competition since there is only one big annual football competition in Makeni, which is the EBK Trophy.
According to Osman Kamara, sixteen teams within the Northern region and North West region took part in the competition and each team paid a registration fee of Le1 million. He stated that two teams from Kambia, two teams from Tonkolili and the remaining twelve teams are from within the municipality of Makeni.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Royal Friends Car competition, Alimamy Kewulay Kanu, “The champions will win the Le22 million plus a trophy and gold medals. The runners up will take home Le6 million and a runners up trophy and silver medals. The individual prizes include a 24” inch plasma television, a plaque, and certificates for both the best goalkeeper and best player. A certificate will be awarded for the best coach”.
The captain of Wusum Stars, Abass P. Kanu, said, “We are motivated for victory. As you can see we are on intensive training ahead of the finals and we’re anticipating of winning the Car worth Le22 million. We’re not going to bring in any players ahead of the finals but we shall maintain the same old players that started the competition at the initial stage. Also, the supporters and the technical team have confidence in us that we’ll win the trophy”.
The former captain of Sebora FC, who is a member of the technical team, Joseph Conteh, said, “We are very excited and optimistic that we’re going to win the trophy. We’ve learned from our mistakes at the recent friendly match we played days ago against them. This final will be our first final in five years. We played our last final in 2013 against Marampa Stars during the EBK trophy and we were defeated and we don’t want to lose this trophy.”
