According to a journalist with the Leone Stars delegation to Ethiopia, Frances Bernard, the national team has held its first training session in Hawassa on Wednesday 5th September 2018.
She said 18 players participated in the morning session. The team’s captain, Kei Kamara, expressed optimism about the team’s performance. He said they will put up their best performance in order to get the required result. Debutant, Osman Kakay, said he is happy to represent his country. David Simbo, Alfred Zagalo Sankoh and Buya Turay are yet to arrive.
In another development, Ethiopian national team coach, Abraham Mebrahtu, has confirmed his 23-man squad ahead of Sunday’s African Cup of Nations Group F qualifiers against Serra Leone at the Hawassa stadium.
Coach Mebrahtu slimmed down his squad from 32 to 23 after last Sunday’s friendly match against Burundi at the Hawassa Stadium.
