Sierra Leone News: Man allegedly killed cookery seller over Le2,000 in Kenema

Umaru Vandi Gbao, 29, a charcoal processor at Koyagbema, in Kenema has made his 13th appearance in the High Court in Kenema before Justice Ivan Ansumana Sesay facing two charges of murder and escaping from lawful custody contrary to Section 12 of Cap 179. The particulars of offence stated that Gbao, on Sunday 10th July 2017 went to the deceased cookery shop and ordered Le2,000 of food. After eating the food he told them to wait for him to go to town and he would pay when he returned. His suggestion was not accepted and an argument ensued between the deceased, Zainab Kamara and himself. The murder suspect escaped from lawful custody and was later rearrested. The matter was adjourned to 16th November 2018 and is being prosecuted by the senior state counsel and customary law officer east, Umu Sumaray.
