Sierra Leone Sports: Y.S.C. announces the 2018 squash open tournament

The Resident Coach of the Young Sportsmen Club (Y.S.C), Baiko Sesay, said this year’s tournament is going to focus on five categories ranging from the open, the advanced, which is for the seniors aged 55 and above, the intermediate for junior veterans, ladies open category and under 14-16. He said the importance of the competition is to see how they can keep the game of squash going in the Young Sportsmen Club (Y.S.C) and the country. The coach affirmed, “We are going to see all clubs participating in this year’s Open including the: Aqua Sports Club, Wilberforce Squash Court, Freetown Golf Club Squash Court, Bank Complex Sports Club and the host Y.S.C Squash Court. Coach Sesay confirmed that this year’s Y.S.C open squash tournament will commence on the 8-15th December 2018, maintaining that the first prize in the open challenge contest is Le10 million; second prize is Le5 million and cash prizes for the other categories. The President of Sierra Leone Squash and Racket Association, Umaru Kakay, said the YSC Squash Club is doing very well for the development of squash and that is why we always give them our support. Some of the players said they are looking forward to such competition as they want to exhibit their talents during the tournament. He ended by saying that the tournament will be sponsored by the management of the Young Sportsmen Club.
