Sierra Leone Sports: Margret Mansaray wins ladies amateur golf tournament

Margret Mansaray has won the ladies category in the just concluded Sierra Leone Golf Open tournament in Freetown. The young golfer noted that she was inspired by her father to play golf, maintaining that this is not her first time of winning the trophy in the Sierra Leone Golf open tournament. Mansaray continued to encourage her colleague age mates to come onboard to train for golf as the game is not just for the daughters of rich people. A Gambian professional golf player based in Sweden, Lamin Turay, called on government to support professional and experienced golfers especially the ladies category as they need lots of encouragement to become more powerful. Lamin Turay also called on all sports journalists to keep on promoting golf. He said without the involvement of the Government the professional will not grow. According to the Administrative Secretary of the Freetown Golf Club, Sheku T. Bangura, who is also the chief Starter, the Sierra Leone Golf Open this year was a success and thanked the Sierra Leonean Golfers for their outstanding performance to win this year’s competition.
