Sierra Leone Sports: Ahmadiyya Muslim girls win volleyball championship

One of the players for Ahmadiyya Muslim Secondary School, Mabinty Samura, says they won the female volleyball competition because they were united and focused and determined. She revealed that since the start of the competition they only played five matches and we won all of them, which eventually made us the champion of this year’s volleyball competition. She said they were happy because for years now school competitions were not played and after the ban was lifted they were the first school to win the volleyball competition. She described the competition as a very tense one as all the schools were looking forward to win the trophy. The volleyball school team captain, Hawanatu A. Bangura, said she was pleased with the performance displayed by the team from the start to the end with such commitment that they are ready for business and appealed to the male team to do the same.
