Sierra Leone Sports: ‘’We have been using football to unite our people ‘’-Kellie Kekura Jalloh

The president for the Alikalia Streams United for Social Action [ASUSA] Kellie Kekura Jalloh has revealed over the weekend ahead of their upcoming traditional December football gala in Alikalia that football is not just a sporting activity for game sake but it also serves as a symbol of unity among their people in Alikalia and the surroundings. The president of ASUSA noted that since the establishment of the association in 2009 they have been engaging in organizing a traditional football gala in Alikalia as a way of promoting peace and unity. Some benefits for the football gala Jalloh mentioned that with the help of the traditional December football competition the association has helped the community to construct the Alikalia Bendugu highway and also provide good football players to represents Alikalia in the Nieni Chiefdom football gala which is the Chiefdom championship league in the district. The president further maintained that the ASUSA is set to organize their every year football gala in Alikalia this December. The national Secretary General of ASUSA, Moseray Thoronka, said the aim of the association is to foster peace, unity and development to improve the quality of education at all levels within the community through football.
