Sierra Leone News: 20 customers win MoneyGram ‘December to Remember’ promotion

On Thursday 13 December 2018, the money transfer company, MoneyGram, rewarded 20 of its customers at the draw of their annual Christmas ‘December to Remember’ promotion at the Harry Yansanneh Memorial Hall on Campbell Street. Julius Spencer, Managing Director of Premier Media Consultancy; an advertising agency for MoneyGram said that promotion is one of MoneyGram’s efforts to give back to its customers and this is probably the biggest promotion they have done in a while because it has two components to it. He explained that MoneyGram is not only looking at paying attention to the development of their business, but to reach out and show appreciation to their valued customers for their continuous support. People are encouraged to send and receive money in the upcoming week for a chance to win great prizes for the season. The first component is for any transaction that the customer does whether it is sending or receiving money the customer gets an instant gift whenever they go to do any transaction and all the agents are given various kinds of gifts. In addition, after any transaction their details are registered for a raffle which will be held in two separate occasions. The first raffle ‘December to Remember’ draw unveiled 20 winners, ten of whom will receive shopping vouchers valued at Le1,600,000 and another ten will receive 20 litres fuel voucher. The promotion started in mid-October and will run through December, according to Spencer, the promotions are just the beginning of something extraordinary that is yet to come but at the end of December there will be another raffle with the star prize a Suzuki car. The car is currently on display at the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank (SLCB) and will be won in the first week of January when the second draw will be held, where shopping and fuel vouchers, mobile phones amongst others will be presented. “We are doing this to encourage customers to continue using MoneyGram service because it is reliable, fast and customers will get value for their money and a gift during this promotion “ he said. In Sierra Leone there are nine agents operating MoneyGram transfer services, which are Afro International, RCBank, SLCB, FBN Bank, GTBank, UBA, BNB, Micro Bit and KeyStone Bank. Agents from the different financial institutions spoke about their efficient services and informed the audience about the location of their different branches. MoneyGram is the second largest provider of money transfer services in the world. The company operates in more than 200 countries with a global network of about 347,000 agent offices.
