Sierra Leone News: GTBank ends the year on the high

Guaranty Trust Bank is ending the year on a high after winning the Best Bank of the year in Sierra Leone for the second year running from The Banker in London. The Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Ade Adeniyi, said the year 2018 was one that he referred to as interesting as the bank was able to bring out new products and their vision to put education first was met with the ‘Free and Quality Education’ launched by the government. “We are very happy for the award we won from England as the best bank in Sierra Leone as well as the profit we made in 2017. This shows that GTB is on the rise and we have established ourselves as the most trusted and viable bank in the country.” He said the staff has been exemplary by working assiduously to meet the customers demand. Adeniyi said their main goal is to satisfy their customers and their business and they offer numerous banking products in order to fulfill their needs. The wide range of products he said that they offer at Guaranty Trust Bank caters for the individual as well as for corporate businesses. “I want to thank all of our customers for keeping the bank afloat and viable this year, If it was not for you GTbank would not exist. We are thanking you for banking with us and appreciating us for all what we are offering you. We believe that in the coming years we will continue to do more for you and we hope that you will continue to patronize us because we are guaranteed and viable in all the 11 countries we operate.” Adeniyi averred that Guaranty Trust Bank’s growing reputation as an international brand was reaffirmed years ago by a successful $750 million USD Global Depository Receipt (GDR) Offering. The listing of the GDRs on the London Stock Exchange in July 2007 made the Bank the first African Bank and Nigerian Company to be listed on the London Stock Exchange. “Over the years, the bank has evolved into an industry leader. This is mainly attributed to the exceptional financial performance, excellent service standards, value adding products and services, innovation, professionalism and excellent ethics, which have led to high customer loyalty and commendations from many organizations.” The CEO says GTBank has a huge appetite for big ticket transactions which has availed the bank a competitive edge in the Sierra Leone banking industry. The bank he said supports both private and government initiatives. GTBank is a major banker to all the telecommunications companies, major petroleum companies, Government parastatals, major importers and mining companies and several other institutions including SMEs. He said this year alone they have helped so many institutions under their Corporate Social Responsibility and they distributed exercise books across the country to vulnerable schools. He said they have been adopting schools that they have repaired and provided furniture for the pupils to study.
