Sierra Leone News: High-profile Principal faces murder charge

On Sunday 26th October 2018, at the Furniture Junction in Allen Town, east of Freetown, it is alleged that Sahr Fillie murdered his wife, Khadija Fillie, by driving over her with his vehicle. The husband, Fillie, was charged with Murder, causing death by dangerous driving contrary to Section 99(1) of the Road Traffic Act of 2007, and careless and inconsiderate driving contrary to Section 101 of the Road Traffic Act of 2007. Magistrate Santigie Bangura at the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 1 denied bail and sent Fillie on remand to the Male Correctional Centre on Pademba Road in Freetown on Thursday 10th January 2019. ASP Eric Deen prosecuted the matter and Fillie was represented by J.M. Jengo and M.Y. Kanu. The matter will continue on Tuesday 15 January 2019.
