Sierra Leone Sports: Salone U-12 Lawn Tennis teams to compete in ITF/CAF Junior Competition In Benin

A seven man delegation of the Sierra Leone Lawn Tennis Association departed the shores of Sierra Leone on Monday 4 March 2019 to compete in ITF/CAT west and Central African Junior teams competition for U-12 slated for Benin from the 6-10 of March. According to the international body, teams from the West & Central African Countries are invited to take part in this 3rd Edition of the West & Central African Team Competitions (Zone II & III) Based on the Rules & Regulations of this competition as well as on the results of the Final Event of the competition held in 2018, the West & Central Africa region will qualify one team in Boys and two teams in the Girls to compete at the Final Event of the 12 & Under African Junior Teams’ Competition (AJTC –12&U) that will take place early September 2019. Before the team departs the President of the Association, Kelvin Kellie, said that he is happy with the support from the Ministry of Sport and he also stated that they are going to play a qualification series and they are going to meet different players which will help them to grow. The Minister of Sport, Ibrahim Nylenkeh, said he is happy with the Sierra Leone Lawn Tennis Association (SLLTA) executive members for their moves within this short time in office Full hospitality (meals and accommodation) will be offered for each team (3 players +1 captain) from the dinner of arrival day (5th March) until breakfast of the departure day (11th March 2019). Captains should be accommodated two per room and players 3 per room. Rooms must have separate beds; under no circumstances can players or captains share a bed. Captains must have been nominated by their national association when submitting the players’ entries. No other captains shall be guaranteed hospitality. The delegation consists of: Momodu Alpha, coach and leader of delegation,
