Sierra Leone News: Dubai ports eye Freetown Port for investment

A delegation from Dubai Port World, Abu Dhabi Port and Manawala Abu Dhabi Airport Company in Dubai made a two-day working visit on the 8 – 9 April 2019 at Queen Elizabeth II to explore investment opportunities in the port and the maritime sector. The Dubai investment delegation engaged the management of the Sierra Leone Ports Authority on investment openings at the Freetown Port, the river ports of Pepel and Nitti, and other viable investments including the marine and the mineral sectors. The Sierra Leone Ports Authority management has been accommodating to genuine investors, the General Manager of the Sierra Leone Ports Authority, Abdulai Fofana said, adding that the Port of Freetown has concessioned its core operational areas to two private operators, the Bollore Group of Companies (a French Company)  and the Nectar Group of Companies (a British Company).
