Sierra Leone Sports: Swimming to host annual National Swimming championship

According to the Public Relations Officer of Sierra Leone Swimming, Diving and Water Polo Association, Hawa Dauda, the Association will host their Annual National Swimming Championships on Saturday 20 April 2019 at the Siaka Stevens Stadium swimming pool. She said the championship should have taken place early than this but because of certain other issues they were unable to have it at that particular time. The Secretary General of the Association, Mohamed Turay, said they are expecting to see a lot of new swimmers for the first time that will compete in the National Swimming competition. He said it is a chance for swimmers to be selected for the national team and to represent the country internationally. That is why the championship is very important for all the swimmers. The outstanding swimmers will be invited to join the rest of the swimmers for more intensive training as they have over four international competitions this year.
